Maintenance Worker

Job Type: Temporary / Full-Time
Probationary Period: 3 Months

Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Days Off: Sunday & Monday
Location: Bronx, NY
Pay: $20.00–$21.00 per hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker for a temporary, approximately 12-week assignment at a residential and office facility in the Bronx. The Maintenance Worker will help maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment while handling general maintenance, work orders, deliveries, facility setup, and preventive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and repair the facility according to established schedules.
• Assist with turnovers of SRO's
• Assist in preparing facility areas for program use.
• Complete maintenance work orders.
• Receive and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
• Assist with inventory control.
• Assist with routine site safety inspections.
• Assist with preventive maintenance involving heating, refrigeration, boilers, plumbing, equipment, and fixtures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience .
• General knowledge of facility maintenance and repairs.
• Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks.
• Strong attention to safety and cleanliness.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements

This position is active and involves working in both office and residential housing environments, including indoor and outdoor areas.

Candidates must be able to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch.
• Talk and hear effectively.
• Frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds .

Background Check

All candidates must successfully complete required background clearances prior to their start date.
